CAPITÁN will be Copa América 2024 Official Mascot
During the draw for the Group Stage of the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024, which took place in Miami on December 7, CONMEBOL announced the new mascot for the 48th edition of the competition.
In the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024, an eagle will represent the unique fusion between South American football passion and American spirit. Her father is Latino and her mother is American, so she invites us to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of South America and the United States, respecting the differences between them always.
During the creation and naming of this mascot, CONMEBOL took into account the eagle’s symbolic association with leadership and nobility.

This year’s CONMEBOL Copa AméricaTM will be played in the United States and will feature 10 CONMEBOL teams and 6 CONCACAF teams.
There are six Concacaf teams that qualify through the Concacaf Nations League 2023/24. The United States, Jamaica, Mexico and Panama are already known as representative teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean. In 2024, two more Concacaf participants will be confirmed after a Play-In between Canada and Trinidad and Tobago and Costa Rica versus Honduras on March 23, 2024.

In its 2016 edition, also held in the United States, the tournament hosted 16 teams for the second time in its history.
In June and July 2024, 32 matches will be played between teams that have won 10 World Cup titles and the biggest stars of world football.
